Full Text of JOE Listing:
Andersen is seeking economists to join its newly launched Andersen Institute for Economics and Finance. The Andersen Institute’s mission is to shape discussions on the most pressing global economic and financial issues facing businesses and governments today. By delivering insights on key global trends, the Andersen Institute aims to foster intellectual leadership, influence public discourse, and provide strategic direction to business decision-makers to help navigate a complex global economy.
Recruited economists will join a team exploring the interconnections between major macroeconomic themes such as technological innovation and artificial intelligence (AI), climate change and decarbonization, geopolitics and fragmentation, rising levels of public debt and demographics, in a poly-crisis world with significant uncertainties.
These trends will be assessed from both a macro and a micro perspective, evaluating:
How global financial markets price risks and opportunities amid heightened macroeconomic, technological and policy uncertainty;
How businesses, governments, and financial institutions navigate these evolving trends, with a particular emphasis on corporate decision-making and the development of new approaches to manage risks and seize opportunities.
Recruited economists will conduct independent and collaborative research and publish findings in research and working paper series of the Institute as well as academic and business journals. They will be expected to attend conferences, participate in public and private events, engage in dialogue with policymakers and the private sector, and maintain a social media presence.
The research produced will be highly relevant to a diverse audience, including academic leaders, policymakers, and private sector executives.
A PhD in Economics, Finance or a related social-science field is required. The economists should have excellent analytical skills, keen interest in macro-financial issues, and strong written and verbal communication capabilities. Ability to explain financial topics in clear terms to a non-technical audience is essential.
